Abundantly Authentic Blue Print to Self-Esteem Workshop #3 “Journey”

Hola Ladies! So….Abundantly Authentic Workshop #3! It happened! And of course it was great.

Excuse me for a moment, but I ALWAYS get super excited because I know that it is GOD’s purpose for my life. And to watch it unfold is extremely emotional. I don’t know where this is headed, as I am just doing what He is telling me to do, but I am ready for what HE has in store for me.

So lets take a look!

Abundantly Authentic workshop #3 was held on June 18th, 2016. The theme of the work shop is…

Moms Corner:

Right after Workshop #2 I got the revelation to call the next one Journey. How did this happen you ask? Well I was just washing dishes and putting things away when the word came to my mind. I thought that I was tripping, but after cleaning up I was watching a program, and guess what the topic was about? Yes…women and their journey. Not only that, but on the same Sunday I went to church and as soon as I walked in there was a HUGE sign that said Journey. I was like “Ok Lord”, I get it.

Also there was an incident that happened that made me really understand what I needed to speak to the mothers about, and how everything was going to come together.

So recently I got life insurance, and when you get life insurance they take do blood work. Well the lady that came by to do my blood work, took my blood pressure and it came back a little high. She suggested to me “have you ever thought about losing weight?”

In my head I was like “who are you talking to?”

I know what she meant, and weight have been something I have been battling ever since I had my kids. But I have never really seriously tried to lose the weight. So it hurt when she suggested it because it was an insecurity of mine. But the crazy thing about it, is that it REALLY affected my mood. I felt so vulnerable and could NOT shake her suggestion. Then I started to feel really bad because I thought “how can I have a program where I am promoting having a positive self-esteem, if I don’t even have one right now?” It was really busting my butt. To the point that one day I was supposed to go to bible study but when I went to the church, there was no bible study that day, but I felt it really heavy in my spirit to read HIS word. So I stopped at a park and started to read my bible. God took me to 2 Corinthians 8:10 which says: And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

I read this verse over and over again and did not know what GOD was trying to tell me right at the moment, but then I got it! I re-read it, and when it said last year, I thought about where I was in my life last year, and sure enough last year was the time that GOD gave me the courage and the opportunity to get out of a toxic marriage, and that my life was turned around, and that was the time that I gave my life over to the Lord! WOW!! GOD WAS SPEAKING TO ME!

Sorry I still get emotional over Him taking the time to speak with me about every aspect of my life.

Anyway this woke me up! And this was my opportunity to continue on my journey, GOD was trying to tell me that I am more than qualified to speak with these girls and ladies, and that YES HE is with me 100% and walking me through this thing called life. He needed me to go through this so that I can communicate AUTHENTICALLY with the women and girls in which HE is blessing me to be able to speak to. By me going through that it forced me to take a deep look inside myself and do something about the changes that I want to see in my life.

When I looked up the meaning of the word Journey is said that it  means to move, to travel, to sail. BOOYAH! Now I see the connection. That is why He needed me to stay focused and disciplined. Since He has told me what He wanted me to do, I decided to make small life style changes, and I have already lost 10lbs.

And I have so much more to go! But it is not something that I am tackling on my own, GOD is in control, and HE is guiding me every step of the way!

I HAVE TO ENCOURAGE YOU AS MOTHERS TO DO YO THANG! What do I mean by that? I mean take care of yourself, you are worth it!

Girls Corner:

Ladies, I would just like to take the time to let you know how special you are. And that you were made in GOD’S Image. Meaning you were made to be yourself and no one else. This life is full of heartbreak and disappointments but that comes with the journey of the life that GOD has given us. ALL of us, and I mean ALL of us have a purpose in this life, and everything that we go through it’s all apart of the JOURNEY and even though it is not always glamorous it’s needed for the process. We have spoken about taking care of our “shells” in the past (this is taking care of your body…by combing your hair, lotioning your skin and so forth), we also talked about believing in yourself and being a good friend to others, now I want to focus our attention on how important it is for take care of our bodies by being active. Taking the time to exercise (and this is not just to lose weight, it is also for your mental health) I know that it may sound intimidating or unreal, but this exercising your body is a way for you to develop and practice a healthy lifestyle.  And you do not have to do anything extravagant, taking small steps is crutial to making changes; so doing things like going for a walk to the park, practicing yoga, riding your bike to school, playing a sport…these are all ways that we can exercise, and get our bodies used to being active.

(This was the group of ladies that supported Journey, we did a small obstacle course and everyone got goodie bags with healthy snacks, a water bottle and ways to exercise)

I could NEVER take for granted what GOD has gifted me to do. As I embark on my own Journey, I prayfully hope that you reading this are inspired to start getting physical not only to lose weight, but to create a habit of living an active, healthy lifestyle.

I pray you were blessed by this post. You know my motto “Never get too comfortable always keep GOD first”.

Sincerely,

Abundantly Authentic Blue Print to Self-Esteem Workshop #2

Abundantly Authentic Workshop #2 was launched on April 16th, 2016! The theme of this workshop is “Ohh La La”.

Why that title and what does that mean? Well I am glad that you asked!

Mother’s Corner:

I would like to invite you all to Abundantly Authentic Workshop #2. I have brought us here together because I believe that as mothers it is our responsibility for us to be the best that we could be for our daughters. Not only is it important for us to be the best that we could be for them, but in order for that to happen we need to be the best that we could be for ourselves. For this to be possible we need to invest in ourselves by TAKING CARE OF OURSELVES. One of the ways that we can practice this is by being an example to our girls, and taking care of your physical exterior (doing things like getting our hair done, lotioning our skin, putting on chap stick, lipstick, lip-gloss etc., being mindful of what we are wearing. You gotta bring out your inner Beyoncé!

God has made you unique! He says in HIS word in Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s Handiwork”

Handiwork means: making things by hand, something that one has made or done; the synonym for handiwork is “creation, product, work, achievement”

You see God has made each and every one of us different, unique, and special! We just have to embrace it. I know that it is usually easier said than done, but that is why we need to practice doing these things. I am figuring that there are multiple ways, and another important thing is that we help each other and have friendships that enhance each other. We all have gifts and talents in different things so that is why it is important for us to connect and network.

Girls Corner:

Ladies, I would just like to take the time to let you know how special you are. And that you were made in GOD’S Image. Meaning you were made to be yourself and no one else.

As young ladies we want to do things to take care of ourselves, not only mentally, emotionally, but physically also. Taking care of our “shell” allows us to practice being the best person that we could be. You see when we look our best, we feel our best, and we can have the best attitude for the day. When we have great attitudes we can be the best friend, best student, best sister, and best daughter that we can be.

One of the ways that we can do this is by taking care of ourselves, our “shell”, our outside being. This is one of the ways that people can see that we value ourselves. The way that we can take care of our “shell” is by combing our hair, taking showers/bath, lotioning our skins, putting on chapstick, putting on clean clothes.

Take time to practice these things (you can always ask mom for help), but that is why we NEED to practice it, because we know that it does not come natural. But we all know the saying, practice makes perfect. Once you start doing these things as apart of your routine, it will just become natural for you.

I wanted the girls to have the opportunity to have these things to practice so we got to make our own lip gloss, soap, and facemasks.

#Single Mom Problems :)

So I have been a single mom for 1yr and a few months now. And boy is hard, rewarding but hard! There are a few things that I have been exposed to since becoming a single mom. Things that I have not had to do because my ex-husband was the one who took care of all of that. And now that my son is 14 I am teaching him things (from a woman’s perspective on what a man should inspire to be and the duties of a man in the household, and in life. These are the things that I have told him, and have him practicing:

  • Put GOD first
  • Pray everyday
  • Taking out the trash
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Open the door for ladies
  • Make it your business to protect your family (mom and sisters)
  • Always expect and participate in the house staying clean
  • Take care of yourself
  • It’s ok to look nice
  • Do things in a timely fashion
  • Be mindful of the time
  • Be a man of your word
  • Have a vision
  • Always be prepared
  • Invest in yourself and others
  • Volunteer your time
  • Be the best that you can be
  • Don’t be lazy
  • Be independent
  • Kill bugs for your mom (girls), even if you are scared, put that fear to the  side and do what you gotta do 🙂
  • Change the oil in the car
  • Move heavy things
  • ENJOY YOUR LIFE!

  • Be good to your friends
  • Choose your friends wisely
  • Treat people the way you would like to be treated
  • Don’t let anyone abuse you (emotionally, mentally, physically)
  • Clean up after yourself
  • Keep the house clean
  • Expect others to keep their house clean
  • Speak up for yourself
  • Be confident
  • ENJOY YOUR LIFEIMG_20151114_095323

So where are the problems you ask?

Image result for girl being frustrated gif

Ok so these are some of the things that I have encountered recently:

  • I have to put things together (I hate doing this)
  • I have to move furniture around
  • I had to move HEAVY furniture from upstairs to downstairs (this is extremely hard for me)
  • I had to learn how to tie a tie (I youtubed it, thought I did a good job, but my son said there was a dad who had to fix it for him) whateva!! LOL
  • I have to kill spiders! I hate doing this, it’s nasty (there was one time that my son was gone, so I had no one to kill a spider for me, and it literally took me atleast an hour to even try and do something. I was paralyzed with fear)
  • Image result for person scared of bugs gif

These are just a few that I can think of right now. But I am quite sure there will be more to come.

If you are a single parent, share some of your #singleparentproblems. LOL

Keisha
