New Book Review: Like Vanessa: by Tami Charles
I usually do book reviews for younger kids, but I am getting the opportunity to share a book that is geared for older girls.
(This is me thinking I am sophisticated because I am doing a book review for an older crowd) LOL
Anyway back to the book review: Like Vanessa is about a girl name Vanessa who is struggling with confidence and self worth because of her circumstances. She is being raised by her grandfather who is dealing with his own struggles of addiction. But given the chance (from a new teacher) to be able to enter a beauty pageant, and during the process is beginning to learn that her self worth is more than just an outside beauty.
I chose to do a book review on this book because it has become my passion to support anyone who promotes planting the seed to our young girls about their self worth. It has become such a norm for our youth to be self conscious, bullied, comparing themselves to others, and we should atleast take the step to reinforce that opposite of the negative messages that are being put out there to them. Lets step up and spread the message! Planting seeds, one message at a time.
Take the time to let me know what ya think!
You know my motto: “Never get too comfortable, always put GOD first”
